Iron Love

Iron Love by Vic Briggs

Weekly Photo Challenge: Summer Lovin’

There is a gentleman artist in Scotland who has adorned his garden with numberless sculptures. Most are fashioned of driftwood rescued from the sea, but there are a few metal sculptures and it is one of these that I have chosen for this particular challenge.

Although something tells me thatย their iron love is bound to survive beyond the summer.

    • Thank you, Tina. The artist lives in a small village on the sea-shore in Scotland. I always visit that place every time I am in Scotland with family: it is such a beautiful place, and I am always drawn to the garden of this house and all its treasures.

  1. I am a fan of metalwork as I have a business with copper whimsical things. These are wonferful examples of what can be done with a material as hard as metal. Beautiful sculptures and photo … it speaks of summer gardening. ๐Ÿ˜Š

    • I am always pleasantly surprised by the range of emotions and moods that can be captured in metal: it must be a very difficult material to work with. Thank you, Isadora. Much appreciated.

  2. Sculptures like this one and the driftwood kind you mentioned are amazing. Random pieces that alone hold a piece of beauty, but put together form a masterpiece.

    • Beautifully put and I couldn’t agree more. I loved seeing those understated gifts of nature transformed into pieces of art. Some of them quite breath-taking. Thank you, Rene.
