Weekly Photo Challenge: Containers

We all have our secret hiding places, where we can get away from the world and spend time with our own recollections. Yet there is no better hiding place than being in a crowd. And when we find ourselves in a new city, anonymity is bound to be ours for the taking.

My choice of container may be unusual at first glance. Yet there are more than people within. There is exhilaration at the prospect of new discoveries, a thirst for knowledge and a sense of adventure. There are memories in the making, history finding its way from the shadows of nearby buildings and unveiling their secrets to those within, whenever they dare step off for a half hour. There are hopes and there is laughter, curiosity and delight.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Summer Lovin’

There is a gentleman artist in Scotland who has adorned his garden with numberless sculptures. Most are fashioned of driftwood rescued from the sea, but there are a few metal sculptures and it is one of these that I have chosen for this particular challenge.

Although something tells me that their iron love is bound to survive beyond the summer.

Weekly Photo Challenge: One

The coast of Devon lulled to sleep by the approaching night. The receding light lends the sea a milky hue. It looks almost frozen. What left me breathless however was the sky with its advancing cover of cloud: a ghostly indigo.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Beginning

Taken through the window of an airplane, this is a photo of darkness receding into light as the landscape collapses into the sea, but what struck me most about this image as I was about to capture it was the play of light on the horizon: an almost a rainbow.
