Warm leather claws,
Your glove forgotten on my hand.
To write into its crumpled skin
Your life beyond the flicker of a screen,
My fingers twist all flaws
Into their absence.
Segmented chasm
Flushed in azure candlelight,
The flesh of shadows black with rage
Seek vengeance for their fate upon a page
In monochrome plasm:
A vow of silence.

It’s quiet… to quiet.
Silence does work its voicelessness through our paths.
Hi.
A beautiful, powerful poem, Vic.
Is ‘Vow of Silence’ perhaps a clever metaphor for an absence from blogging lately, Vic? I do hope the writing and editing of your novel are going well (as I’m sure they are!)
L 🙂
Thank you, Lee-Anne. It is certainly as you surmised. While I will be returning to blogging in time, at present my efforts are bound elsewhere. Hope you are well.
Lovely, Vic. Inspires me to be quieter, lol.
Thank you Beth.
Your Vow of Silence kind of is annoying.
Sorry about that, Kavalkade. I needed a break and had lots of things happening: both old and new to sort out. I’ve been trying to get back into my social media stride this last week or so. I’ll never be able to be as active as you are, but will certainly hope to return to my old self.
Wishing you a lovely day 🙂
I have decided that vows of silences suck.
They can do. Over now 🙂

We need you back to elevate this blogosphere. I’m looking forward to purchasing and reading your novel once its released. Hold your head high, Queen!
You are too kind. While I will do my best to blog on a more regular basis, I am afraid that it will be impossible to do so with quite the frequency and intensity of former times. My regards and best wishes.
