Mimetic play of shadows, this life of scattered pasts
Re-lived in broken sequence and blind
To irony’s howl,
Refined
For a present imperfect, whence its actors recasts.
Barb wire. Wrapped spikes around the insoles of my feet,
The illusion of freedom dispelled,
Depleted of colour,
Repelled
The will of a slave, by destiny deemed obsolete.

Re-lived in broken sequence and blind… Ambiguous yet Rhythmic 🙂
I am drawn to ambiguity, especially in verse I feel that it delves deeper and allows (counter-intuitively perhaps) for created clarity. Thank you, Nishita.
You’re Welcome. People like you inspire young people like me.! WAY TO GO MISS..! Keep Writing.!
I could ask for no greater reward for my efforts. Thank you and best wishes in your creative endeavours.

I hope you do. Thank you, Lance.
And this is all we are – fragmented memories in the ocassional dreams of others.
A fabulous poem, Vic – great pic too.
Fragmented memories in the occasional dreams of others… Always a pleasure reading your comments, Chris. Thank you.
You can have that one as a freebie!!!!
Thank you kindly. That I will do.
PS: The image was corrupted when I transferred it to my pc, but in a strange way I think it gained from it. I may have overlooked it otherwise, and yet here it is in its broken fullness.
Wonderful and beautiful.
Thank you, Luanna. Dark realms have taken me hostage of late. One creates in captivity, and dreams of a world beyond its bars. I rather hope my readers will bear with me, until I reach happier ground.
Some of the best poetry in history is dark. You express things I feel.
Perhaps by committing darkness to prose and verse, the creator aims to weaken its hold on the everyday. I wish I had more sunshine to impart. Soon I hope.
Then I wish you sunshine and joy.
Thank you, Luanna and I hope that your warrior self is going strong. 🙂
Not so much for the last week but she’ll be back. She always returns.
I am sorry that she had taken a leave of absence. My warmest regards xx
And to you.
